gfanikf1 Released in the UK as Hard Boiled 2 in an attempt to cash in on the fame of the Chow Yun Fat/John Woo action masterpiece, The Last Blood was actually made a year before Hard Boiled. The Last Blood is a great piece of action from Wong Jing starring no less than Leung Kar Yan, Eric Tsang, Andy Lau, and Alan Tam who are all a joy to watch in the film. Alan Tam is an Interpol agent assigned to stop an attempted assassination attempt of the Daka Lama (that’s what the film calls him) by the Japanese Red Army. Alan foils the initial attempt but the Daka Lama is wounded along with Andy Lau's girlfriend and both have an extremely rare blood type that only three people in Singapore have. The JRA kills the first two leaving Eric Tsang as the only man left with the blood type and the JRA hot on his trail with Alan and Andy trying to keep him alive and get him to the hospital. Wonderful action and an interesting if not odd plot keeps the film from feeling boring and unoriginal. Lots of great gunplay and insane action ensures that you won't want to take you eyes of the screen. Highly recommend.
