This is an awesome idea!! Generations down the line will be hunting to get their hands on the deadliest book on old skool kung fu movies ever published..!!!

With articles on all the main genres.. bashers, shapes etc..

Reviews on all the MUST SEE classics!

Bios on all the Dons of the Jade Screen! Like Tan Tao Liang, Hwang Jang Lee, Charlie Chan, Cassanova etc.

Articles on Rares,

Articles on the history of the kung fu movie hunts in the UK & USA.

This book will be AWESOME on TOP of AWESOMENESS!!!

Trust me.. once its ready.. we should have an official launch too.. an bring back the man with the legendary brown suit too!! An show some classics such as Snake In The Monkeys Shadow, Crippled Avengers, Prodigal Son etc on the big screen!!!

I think this might be the only way to get Pete to visit the UK again.. either that or we hold the launch in Dubai!!

Pete and I have very clear aims regarding the eventual direction the book will take but obviously welcome suggestions. That said, we both view the book and AMRS as two separate and distinct entities. Therefore, there will be no link between this new project and the sterling work already carried out via AMRS.

We aim to make this title the definitive tome on the genre and will be looking at utilising in depth pieces on various aspects.

There you have it.....KC and I are determined to make this work as an END RESULT Book.

I can clearly say myself and KC are about to put together a PLAN of ACTION and so far we have had 10 PM's and posts in this thread from various members to assist us and in time we will put together a constructive plan that will allow anyone interested to take part at will in a SPECIAL THREAD DESIGNATED FOR THIS PROJECT.

All final decisions will be down to KC and me in terms of project outcome.

All those who put there names forward I sent you PM's and express thanks and to bear with us as we put this whole thing together.

Just to clarify, it's our aim to have a published volume on every aspect of the genre. This may seem a huge task but such an endeavour will hopefully produce the definitive book on the subject.

  I have a question:

How are members going to contribute their mini reviews, screenshots and ratings?

If they are going to be posted in a separate section here on the site, would it not be an idea to make that section hidden and only accessible to people who are actually contributing to the book?

Otherwise, every Joe Bloggs out there can read the reviews and see the work that everyone will be doing and if/when the book finally gets released, there'll be no incentive for anyone to purchase it because everything would be visible and free to read here.

That's a perfectly valid point and one that Pete and I have covered. The forum section pertaining to the book will only be accessible to contributors. Therefore, it's important that Pete and I know who the core group are at this early stage.

Yep, otherwise it could become a huge mess. Trust me, it'll be hard enough for you guys to do editorial work on the content from confirmed contributors, but editing everyones contributions would be impossible. At this stage, how many words max are we looking at per review? I think reviews for most films will have to be kept tight and to the point, but maybe for the more iconic movies more space could be allowed? I'm thinking the classics here, the movies that go on to define their genre and have even crossed over into mainstream culture.

OK a list of Support Organisers will be listed in the near future all headed by myself and Kwai Chang......then a further list of optional supporters will also be made known....We will then have a completely NEW THREAD designated for this effort by ASSIGNED ENTRY ONLY!!!

I think your opinions has also been noted Kaleyboy as the ideas given I can assure these ideas are extremely valuable to the program and KC and myself will take careful note of these ideas and I can assure you your request to play a part in the running of this effort will be a SENIOR ROLE....
